The other day Hannah took us to a gardin near the university to practice taking vivid pictures and using double exposure. Here i took 2 pictures of different flowers and overlaid them (a new trick i learned) and got this product. I really like it, what do you think?

Today we went to Avignon. I was under the impression that the bus was making one stop; near the city. but when i woke up from my nice nap, i realized we were in the middle of no where. This seemingly abandoned place was home to a massive Aqueduct on a river. After walking across we settled down for lunch, then decided to go swimming. I was hesitant at first, because the water was crazy cold, but after seeing my friends jumping on the rocks into the water i decided i hadddd to do it. So after much hesitation, I finally jumped in, and it was amazing. After the spontaneously fun afternoon, we went to the actual Avignon and walked though the city, which was absolutely beautiful. Today was definitely one of my favorite days so far, and tomorrow we're off to Cassis. A tout a l'heure!

Yesterday we returned to Marseille and had a well deserved meal on top of a hill after a long walk. The view from the church on top of the hill was amazing! During the day I also was able to get some shopping in, including a Marseille soccer jersey...which I'm currently wearing. It was yet another fun day shared by all
Last night was Project Runway, Abbey Road addition. We choose groups of 6 and had to work with materials given to us to create a new look. My group, Sam, Bailey, Sophie, Nora (not present in picture) and Tommy, quickly got to work on creating the "Waste Land" look, which Thomas modeled flawlessly. It was such a fun night, and tomorrow we're off to Marseille!
Today we went back to Cassis, (on Bastille day we went to a beach in Cassis, but that one was outside the center of town), this time we were right in the middle of everything. we started today with a boat tour which visited 5 islands each with a beach; all of which were beautiful. then we came back and roamed the town getting food and shopping and hanging out on the beach. the crazy thing was i ran into a boy from my school, Francis, at a cafe, it was a crazy coincidence! overall it was an amazing day
Happy Bastille day! Hope everyone had a great day!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of the town:

Day 8 in Aix

Today we went to Arles, an adorable little town. The main attraction here was the photography museum, which was verrrry interesting and advertised by these bulls and other characters similar to it. Later we got to explore the area; it was similar to Aix but not as crowded. also, there was a huge river where we hung out for about 45 minutes, just watching the sun go down. It was a great day!

Day 6 in Aix

This morning instead of having class we went to a near by market where i was able to get some awesome pictures like this one.
Later on we have regular class and we get to choose where we eat dinner...I'm craving pizza and Charlotte (who has been here before) knows a great place, but we'll see!
A tout a l'heure!

Day 4 in Aix

Today was a very relaxed day with very little photography, so i decided to post a photo from yesterday's beach day. Isn't it beautiful?

Last night we went on a photo scavenger hunt around Aix. here we have Elyse, Nora and Thomas mimicking a statue found on a main street corner, "we look good ay?" Elyse the canadian would probably say, hahaa

Day 3 in Aix

Today we went on an excursion to Marseille. It was absolutely beautiful, the buildings, the water, the beaches, everything!
We began the day with out first language class, which wasnt exactly simple, but it was very informative. then we ate an early lunch (nutella on toast) and hit the road. We arrived quicker than i had imagined for it was only a 20 minute bus ride.
Next came the boat ride to the beach. Occasionally i feel a tad sea sick (de temps en temps) but this boat ride was too fun to even think of that. not only did we play french games but everywhere we looked we saw awesome mountains, ancient statues and a bright blue sea.
The beach we small but perfect. we were able to lie out on the sand and just relax for a little. some of the more adventurous people swam out in the what i felt was too cold water. instead i happily took some photos and then a nap. over all it was an amazing day and i cant wait to go back because Marseille is the type of place where the moment you left the train station you know you're in a special city. je dois dormir maintenant, au revoir mes amis!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY

Day 2 in Aix

Today was our first day of actually seeing the city. here's a picture of Rotonde, the center of Aix, which is only a 3 minute walk from the residence; c'est parfait!
I've only spent 24 hours with these people and I've already made friends. It's really easy to connect with such interesting and friendly people. And the program staff are very helpful and caring, they always seem to know what to do.
I truly can't wait to spend more time here to get closer with the city and people. I'm so excited!
A bientot!
